DEVOPS ENGINEER

You're a hands-on DevOps expert who thrives at the intersection of automation, reliability, and scalable cloud infrastructure. You excel at building and maintaining resilient systems that keep product development moving quickly without compromising on security, reliability, or compliance.

You have experience supporting distributed engineering teams, and you know how to design deployment processes that just work. You’re passionate about leveraging automation and infrastructure-as-code to enable rapid iteration while upholding high standards of operational excellence. And you’re energized by working in an organization where engineering decisions directly accelerate progress in healthcare and clinical research.

What You'll Do

Own Azure Cloud Infrastructure

  • Manage and optimize our Azure-based environments (compute, networking, security, storage, Kubernetes)
  • Design and maintain production-grade infrastructure that scales with demand and uptime requirements
  • Implement cost-efficient resource provisioning and monitoring

Build & Evolve Deployment Automation

  • Architect and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred)
  • Drive automation across development, testing, and deployment workflows
  • Manage containerization and orchestration (Docker, Azure Kubernetes Service, Helm)
  • Ensure fast, reliable deployments across dev, QA, staging, and production environments
  • Implement zero-downtime deployment strategies and automated rollback mechanisms

Enhance Reliability & Observability

  • Own monitoring, logging, and alerting for proactive issue resolution (Azure Monitor, Prometheus/Grafana, etc.)
  • Continuously improve application availability, performance, and response time

Support Security, Compliance & Governance

  • Partner with compliance teams to implement required controls for clinical data environments
  • Support audits, vulnerability assessments, and environment access policies

Enable the Engineering Team

  • Deliver tooling and automation that reduce friction for developers
  • Provide clear documentation and guidance that improves developer experience
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across time zones including U.S. and offshore teams

 

What You Have

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years DevOps, Cloud, or SRE experience in production environments
  • Hands-on expertise with Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD automation
  • Strong knowledge of networking, security, load balancing, and secrets management
  • Experience tuning performance and optimizing infrastructure costs
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (Bash, Python, or similar)
  • Experience supporting AI/ML infrastructure and model deployment workflows in production environments
  • Demonstrated success operating in fast-moving environments with high accountability
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills

Nice-to-Haves

  • Familiarity with IaC (Terraform or Azure Bicep)
  • Experience with projects involving high speed data processing, large databases, performance
  • Prior experience supporting distributed offshore engineering teams
  • Experience supporting compliance requirements (HIPAA, GxP, ISO, or similar)
  • Knowledge of regulated healthcare or life sciences industries
